history
Alexandria’s Rapides Bank & Trust Company was designed by the Bank Building & Equipment Corporation in 1954. A crowd of 35,263 people jammed 4th and Murray Streets to attend the opening of the new Rapides Bank and Trust Co. on January 19, 1954. Since then, the building has been a Downtown staple. The Kinetix Technology Center is home to the most unique vault that was brought over to 400 Murray Street when the Rapides Bank & Trust Company moved in 1954.
